First of all,
Welcome to the Forums!

The goal of these forums is to be a community focused on learning and sharing.
Tips, tricks, techniques, whatever you feel like sharing.

This is not an application specific forum, it is a media art forum so questions, comparisons and comments regarding any media related software is ok. However try to keep it cordial, your application of choice may not be someone else's. Please try to be respectful of all application choices.

That said, there are a couple ground rules we'd like to set when it comes to discussions.

Posting in the forums
  • 1. Since there are no age limitations we'd like to keep the forums as clean as possible. That means no full nudity, please. Even artistic. Images depicting nude women or men showing genitalia will be removed and the user will be warned. S7 Studios has nothing against artistic nudity but since we do not aim to be an adult oriented gallery we would like to cater to as many groups of users as possible. Young and old.
Where vulgarity is concerned we've added a filter that will modify your explicit verbiage and hopefully maintain your meaning in the process. If there are words that you belive should be censored but are slipping through the filter, please let me know and I'll add them to the filter. Either way, if you can... lets try to keep it as clean as possible.
  • 2. Please be respectful of others posts. If you must disagree with a user try and be as polite and constructive as possible when doing so. Post that are viewed as inflammatory or insulting may be deleted without notice and the user will be given a warning.
  • 3. Be constructive in your criticism. No one likes a jerk and no one learns from puffery. Try to offer helpful critiques when you can. Keep it pleasant and honest or keep it to yourself.
  • 4. Please do not post references, links or any other comments relating to warez, cracks or piracy. Sub7th does not support piracy and violators will be banned
  • 5. Do not abuse the Private Messaging System. Users are able to report PM's to moderators and Administrators. If your PM's contain spam, vulgarities or anything of an offensive nature, your account will be modified, your IP host logged and you will be banned.

Other than that please feel free to ask questions, share thoughts and contribute to what we hope will become a growing community.

Now for the cool stuff

Buying Beers
This is, what I hope will be one of the cooler features in the forums and will give people incentive to help and contribute.
Obviously it's a metaphor, you're not buying anyone an actual beer. When you click the little beer icon below the users name in their post you'll be taken to their paypal page where you'll be able to donate a few bucks (just enough for a beer) to the user.
Personally I think it's a great way to say "Thank you."

Rules;
  • 1. Don't ask for refunds. I can't give em. This forum has no control over the paypal accounts of the individuals herein. If you donate, consider it a gift and it's gone. These are donations folks. A way to say "thank you" not a way to control your peers.
  • Do NOT spam beer requests. Anyone seen making a post specifically for Beer requests or spamming "Buy me a beer" will have their account modified and possibly banned. Spamming is defined as, repeatedly posting the same thing over and over again in one or multiple threads. I will not engage in semantics here, it's pretty obvious when someone is spamming.

Posting Videos & Music
To post a video directly to the forum from a place like Youtube, Vimeo or Google Videos all you need to do is type in or paste the URL, that's it! The forum will handle the rest. Music and audio files will be added as soon as we can figure out which sites we trust users to link to. (if you have any suggestions please PM me or shoot me an email).
For now there is support for Soundcloud if you have an account, you can add the soundcloud player via the BBC button when you post .

  • 1. Please do not post graphic violence, advertisements or nudity.
  • 2. As with everything else. Copyrighted material will be removed and the user may be banned for posting it.

Posting Art & Images
As with most forums you can post images to help show others a trick or technique or just to show off some of your art.
You can attach it to the forum from a file on your PC using the "Attach" feature in the additional options or you can link to an image using the [IMG] tag feature.

Some basic rules apply however:
  • 1. Images can not be larger than 800x600 in the forum but clicking an image will open a new window for full size.
  • 2. Images must not exceed 120kb in size if you wish to host them in the forums.
  • 3. Please limit the number of pictures you add in a single post to no more than 6.
  • 4. Again, please keep it clean. Artistic nudity has it's place but not in these forums, please try to refrain.
  • 5. You may not, under any circumstances post copyrighted materials or art that does not belong to you.
  • 6. Any and all art herein is the the soul property and copyright of it's creator you may not use it for any purposes without their expressed permission.
  • 7. Images that do not adhere to these rules may be removed by a mod. Violating these rules may also result in reduction of privileges and even banning.
